Abstract

The research was carried out in one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods of Peru, its purpose was to determine the relationship between antisocial behavior traits and pro-environmental behavior. The sample consisted of 250 residents, the Corral Antisocial Behavior Traits Scale and the Pato and Tamayo Pro-Environmental Behavior Questionnaire were used. The results showed that low levels of antisocial behavior traits and moderate levels of pro-environmental behavior prevail in the inhabitants; Likewise, differences were found in antisocial behavior traits and pro-environmental behavior according to age, where adolescents showed a higher level of antisocial traits than adults, and adults revealed a higher level of pro-environmental behavior than adolescents; According to the correlational results, it was found between the antisocial behavior traits and the pro-environmental behavior, concerning the antisocial behavior dimension it is the one with the highest correlation with the pro-environmental behavior, followed by the lack of self-control dimension, on the other hand, no relationship was found between the risk tendency dimension with pro-environmental behavior. The conclusion reached was that antisocial behavior traits are relevant indicators to explain pro-environmental behavior, since these traits would be oriented to the detriment and impairment of the socio-physical environment and natural resources.
